O scanner intraoral é uma das maravilhas que a tecnologia desenvolveu em favor da medicina dentária e veio para substituir os tão desagradáveis e famosos moldes no dentista.

 O scanner realiza uma leitura completa das arcadas dentárias com uma câmara intraoral e os dados capturados são enviados para o computador, que reproduz os dentes do paciente em uma imagem 3D de altíssima qualidade. 

As facetas dentárias, ou lente de contato dentárias como também são conhecidas, consistem num fino revestimento de porcelana ou resina de elevada resistência que recobrem na totalidade a parte visível dos dentes.

Com a colocação de facetas dentárias é possível alterar completamente o sorriso de uma forma bastante rápida. Conseguimos mudar a cor, a forma, a largura e o comprimento dos dentes, bem como mascarar alguns problemas relativos a posição dentária, como pequenas rotações e dentes afastados (diastemas).
